Day 106: Waiting to teach Reading and Writing?

So it was interesting that recently a nursery pre-school manager explained to me that Ofsted which are the school evaluation agency in the UK, actually don’t want pre-schools to teach reading and writing during the child’s time at the pre-school. So from what this person explained to me, the education system here has for a longtime essentially been trying to limit children’s potential through saying that the learning and practical application of writing in a child’s early development should only start once the child goes to primary school for the first day.

In fact it is never too early for a child to start developing vocabulary, reading and arithmetic skills as the first 7 years of our lives is when we are naturally learning continually and so this is where our potential to remediate and accelerate children’s education is at its highest importance.

It is clear from this article that Ofsted have now understood more about the importance of words as nurseries are now going to be marked down for not teaching basic word development.

Words are the building blocks of all levels of life, so we must not limit our children’s building of a strong brick wall of understanding, we must build with them from as early as possible through dedicated parenting/teaching, so they can become strong temples of success in life, and the more strong temples of success we have in the world, then the better our world inevitably will be for everyone. So let’s do everything we can to make sure that all nurseries and educational facilities at each level of schooling provide the best education possible for our children.
