So I am going to give some perspective on how this following quote is complete self-deception, and simply feeds into ego – “The most beautiful people we have known are those who have known struggle, known loss, and have found their way out of the depths. These people have an appreciation, a sensitivity and understanding of life that fills them with compassion, gentleness and a deep loving concern. Beautiful people do not just happen~ Elizabeth Kubler Ross~”
So let’s slow down and look at this statement in closer detail in the scope of self-honesty. So immediately when I read the words “the most beautiful people” it’s already clear to me before I read any further, that the writer of this quote misunderstands the point that all humans as any beings in reality are equal as life. Because to imply that there are some people that are “more beautiful” then others is to say that some humans have more value than others, which is clear inequality as separation, exactly the same as what the modelling industry suggests which is that if you fit societies idea of “beautiful” then you have apparently more value, being “more beautiful” then others, which is dishonesty.
Then the writer goes on to say – “the most beautiful people we have known are those who have known struggle, known loss, and found their way out of the depths.” Now this statement is really fucked up, because it implies that if you have struggled in life in anyway such as having no money as a negative for instance, but then if you have found a way to get to riches as the positive through any means no matter if its abuse – then apparently you have more value than any other human, because you pulled yourself out of negative into positive, from darkness to light feeding into polarity as separation. And this would then mean that anyone that reads this statement that has lived the definition of a hard life, or beliefs they have had a hard life will immediately have their ego massaged by the statement, and will likely then begin to believe that they are “more beautiful” then those that have not lived a hard life. That point of feeling special because of living a life of struggle, which then In fact is justifying the abuse the person incurred in “living a life” of struggle, because it feeds into that belief that - “my life made me who I am, I pulled through the struggles and look at me now” it’s like saying if your being abused don’t worry its ok because if you pull through then you will be a “more beautiful” person, and then you will thank the fact that you were abused lol - Very fucked up indeed.
And thus this Idea can then deceive a person who defines their own life as a “hard life” into purposely attacking someone who they perceive has lived an “easy life”, because they “don’t know the things I’ve seen” so therefore “I deserve the riches more than they do because I’ve had to struggle for it” “I’m harder than they are, they could never handle the stuff I’ve handled”. All Self-deception as ego, which also conditions people to believe that if you have struggled in life then riches are more likely to attract to you because you apparently deserve it more because you’re “more special” then someone that didn’t struggle. Which is just not how this reality works, because majority of people that struggle in poverty will never make a lot of money, because of having no idea how to accumulate it effectively, and having no support for education and the highest paid jobs, but if your family already has a lot of money, then you will make money 99.9% of the time, obviously.
Also to say that the “most beautiful people are those that have known loss” is ridiculous Self-deception because everybody has lost something, it’s not just a special group of “beautiful people” that know about loss, and I mean nobody really owns anything, we don’t even own our own breath and without exception everybody will die.
Then the writer goes on to say – “These people have an appreciation, a sensitivity and understanding of life that fills them with compassion, gentleness and a deep loving concern. Beautiful people do not just happen”. First of all this statement is implying that we humans have to be abused before we can “appreciate and understand” the “full extent” of life, that we have to be abused in order to be compassionate and gentle, which again is justifying abuse because after all according to this writer “beautiful people don’t just happen”. However in self-honesty we can clearly see that the cause of being sensitive, understanding life, being compassionate and gentle has nothing to do with being abused, it is simply a physical understanding of the words lived by self in self-honesty.
Also implying that we have to “understand life” according to being filled with “deep” emotions or knowledge and information as memory of being abused is deception. Because understanding life doesn’t “fill us” with anything, life is simplistic here as this breathe as the physical, it has nothing to do with being filled with memories or being possessed by emotions.
Also this statement is attempting to say that people that have struggled and been abused a lot will be “more gentle” and have a deeper “loving concern” then someone who hasn’t struggled and been abused. In my experience people that have struggled and been abused a lot in life certainly aren’t “more gentle” or having more of a “loving concern” for others. Because most that “get out of the depths” have usually done so through abuse, it is clear that our environment programs us; the abused most of the time become the abusers so that instead of experiencing helplessness the abused can now become the position of power as the abuser. The clearest proof of this in my experience is criminals, because the most ruthless gangsters will majority of the time have grown up in an extremely abusive environment not to grow up and become a more “caring”, “loving” “gentle” person, but instead to grow into an absolute monstrous demonic abuser because all they have ever known is how harming people can get you a feeling of power as respect through fear.
So it’s cool to expose the deception in this statement, because I myself once held a belief that any point of “struggle” in my life has only made me “stronger” and thus “more special” then others, which is absolute pre-programmed bullshit that was only making me more emotional and abusive, which I exposed for myself through self-honesty, and anyone that can be self-honest can see how only self-deception and ego is fed with statements like this one from Elizabeth Kubler Ross.
Cool article, Marley.
ReplyDeleteI've considered myself for a long time such a person, along with some of my friends. Having seen extremely hard times (like my friend lost her child to death) and make our way through it, we used to state similar words. But it was actually just jealousy - for us to have to emotionally suffer that much and others that have such 'easy' life. It was just a means to sooth ourselves. And of course: we would be most likely rewarded after death lol
thanks for sharing!
