So I heard a story on the news today, about The Beatles members leading a campaign with various other famous musicians to push for a ban on all music downloads. This campaign is called “the music matters campaign” which pushes the idea that music must only be listened to and enjoyed by people, if it has been purchased first.
A direct quote from the website whymusicmatters.org – “It aims to hammer home how listening to music is a shared experience and brings people together” which of course is a sales pitch, implying that the process of buying a cd and listening to it, is a peaceful process that is “good” because it apparently brings people together, which is also implying that if you dont have money then you shouldnt be allowed to listen to music, which is not acceptable.
This is all marketing of course, a desperate attempt to encourage the public to start spending more money on music just like we did before downloading on the internet became available. These rich music artists are claiming that downloads off the internet is destroying the business and is the main reason why album sales for all artists have declined a lot in the last 5 years, claiming that every “illegally” downloaded album is a loss of a sale, which is a ridiculous statement to make. I know some people that download a lot of music off the internet, and are only doing so because the technology allows them to do it, and because it is mostly free, not because they like the particular artist or music that much.
More and more people in this system of capitalism are falling out of middle classes into lower classes everyday at an accelerated rate, cost of living is rising, so more and more people are simply not able to afford the prices of these expensive albums that come out in stores, many being as much as £20. In the 60s a vinyl record would be a way to buy some entertainment, computer games were essentially non-existent, and films were mainly watched at the cinemas. But nowadays majority of people much prefer to buy computer games/dvds for entertainment instead of buying a cd and with regards to music many simply listen to music on YouTube or download.
It’s an interesting story though because it reveals how nothing is free in capitalism, and that most wealthy capitalists and musicians fear the internet, and will attack the internet, trying to do all they can to try and convince people to stay away from their computers, that the internet is “bad” for people in some way. I mean with stories like this it’s clear to see why so many people still define others that go on the internet often as “bad” defining them as “geeky” and “weird”. With stories like this it is clear that the wealthiest elite fear the internet, because it is to a certain extent out of their control, it allows people to find certain points for free, and communicate with people all around the world offering the ability to unify people, and so these rich elitists will do what they can to try and stop people from utilizing the internet to benefit their own pocket with something like downloading.
This point also explains why many massive companies on the internet attack desteni so much, and will be continuing worse and worse attacks, because desteni represents the greatest ever threat to capitalism - a group that utilize the internet to unite worldwide and promote a system of equality to end capitalism, freeing all humans from the debt of having to fight to survive, which scares the shit out of the “ruling elite”. Which Is part of why many of the main desteni YouTube channels have been forcefully and illegally terminated by YouTube, because of the threat that desteni represents to the brainwashing that has been developed, accepted and allowed here. And what is also certain is that these desteni YouTube channels would not have been closed if YouTube made money from desteni, but because YouTube doesn’t earn any money from desteni, they felt it necessary to attack the only real threat to capitalism which is not acceptable, so we are all now exposing this point.
But no matter what these companies do, we still remain; we stand, because the desteni message is a message that will stand for eternity. And in an equal money system, all music will be for free to listen to, it will be created from the starting point of self-expression, not from the dishonest starting point of making the music for others just to make profits, entertaining people with sex and violence, attempting to force people to buy the music through sales tactics - that will be removed, and all musicians will be paid the same, no musicians will be earning any more or less than any other musicians in an equal money system. So it’s that whole point isn’t it, let’s take away all the money in music, and then we will see who the real musicians are.
